I lurve shooting weddings … in fact, I love shooting love. I love the intimacy in the looks lovers share, I love the relationship of being someone’s lover and lifetime partner and I love the emotions behind the happiness. It’s no secret the relationship I have with my husband is my favourite of the many beautiful relationships in my life and often wonder if this is what attracts me about photographing couples.
Choosing the right wedding photographer is one of the most personal decisions brides and grooms will ever have to make. When so much planning goes into making their day so special, couples want to know it will be captured the way they want to remember it. It’s those moments before each kiss and those intimate experiences sometimes lost in the excitement of the day that I create into lifelong fine art memories. My personalised service of photographing each wedding begins at the first moment of contact. After initial meetings with each couple and getting to know what makes them click, Engagement shoots are complimentary giving the couple an opportunity to begin to photograph their life together. Engagement shoots are fun and sassy. It’s a great experience for me to get to know each couple before their wedding day and for them to feel comfortable in front of the camera. Many of my clients use the images from the E shoots for their wedding service and invitations. A custom designed guest book or set of postcards featuring images from the engagement shoot is part of the package, giving the wedding guests an opportunity to write sweet messages about the wedding couple as a keepsake of their special day.
Photographing each wedding day is a unique experience. Often the day begins with the bride getting ready. The bride’s emotions are treasured along side the finer details of the day … the flowers, the dress, the rings, the shoes, the ‘new’, the ‘old’, the ‘blue’, the eyelashes, the smiles, the friendships …. From there, each wedding rolls for the bride and her groom just they way they plan it with me by their side ensuring their special day is perfectly created into fine art portraiture. There’s some ‘frozen’ lifestyle documentary, some formal group shots and some directed, yet natural couples and bridal party photography in each collection. A wedding day does not end there, so the photojournalistic documentation continues well into the reception or party to really capture all elements of the day.

Over time, the memories of each intimate shared look and that feeling a bride and groom have the moment before each kiss will fade as life becomes busy with ‘life’.
