Helena and Robbie married at El A. This was not the LA in the United States of America but more the quaint El A township where Helena grew up in the far north of Queensland, Australia. The pub where they wed is quaint, filled with everything antique and charming … the people of El A are filled with old fashioned love and charm … the buildings are quaint filled with all things adorable and charming.
I first met Helena on the morning of her wedding. It was at her mother and father’s place and she was with her family. I walked into the family all sitting down having lunch together at the long, charming table filled with family love. Everyone was enjoying a cooked meal and vino. Everyone was enjoying the company that was their El A family. The home was exactly that, a home filled with love and old aged charm not ever to be repeated in our modern world. Helena got dressed for her wedding in her shared bedroom with the two sisters who shared the room with her when she was a little girl. The room was still filled with the same charm and sister love that once was animated on a day to day basis. There was that instant childhood peace and innocence. There was that instant charm of yesteryear.
I first met Robbie on the afternoon of his wedding. He was standing bewildered at the El A tavern wondering who on earth the ‘chick with the camera’ was. Robbie did not know his wedding was to be photographed. Robbie did not know his beautiful bride was to be documented on their special day. This itself was charming and adorable, just like El A itself.
Helena and Robbie are on their oversea honeymoon as we speak. They have seen, cried over and shared their photos. They have seen, cried over and shared the charm of their wedding day.
